About Queer Day: FAQ

1. What is Queer Day?
Queer Day is basically the ultimate queer weblog. It's an online magazine experience that brings you the best in news, culture and gossip from all over the world wide web.

2.What is a weblog?
If you want the full meal deal answer, read Weblogs: A History and Perspective. In a nutshell I surf the web and then log whatever I found out there that I thought was worth telling you about. I'm covering the web so you don't have to.

3. Why are you doing this?
I never found the lgbt site I always wished existed, so I decided to create it. Queer Day had grown weary of what passes for our press poorly rewriting stories and press releases and passing them off as news. I routinely give you a slice of what to expect and give you the link to the source so you can go get the rest of the story.

4. Can I subscribe to your email newsletter?
I don't have one and we have no plans to have one. I want you to visit the site, a lot, several times a day. I get lonely.

5. All I really want is gay or lesbian or bi or trans news. Is there someway I can get only that?
We encourage you to read it all and discover how truly connected we all are. If you really want to, however, check out our "By Topic" section and easily customize Queer Day to suit your needs.

6. I want to submit something for publication. Can I?
Of course you can. We may even print it. I'm always looking for content. Find out more about submissions.

7. Can I tell you about something anonymously?
My lips are super sealed and I welcome your . For more info, visit the submissions page.

8. Why didn't you publish my link, story, news tip, rant, etc?
I may not have had space that day. It may not have been timely. More often than not I may have already ran the story, or something very similar. If you want more info just ask.

9. Why did you publish that homophobic/transphobic story?
While there is no such thing as making a community as diverse as ours completely happy, I give it my best shot. And sometimes it is all I can do to simply get the news posted. Consequently the occasional item gets tossed out without any comment that is indeed upsetting. In fact, that's why the piece was noticed in the first place - and then posted it so you can go yell at them. If you truly feel I missed the boat, let me know in as nice a way as possible. I generally respond very well when approached with manners. I generally ignore people who scream at me.

10. Who publishes this anyway?
Queer Day is published entirely by Philo Hagen in San Francisco, California. Special thanks also go out to Jamison for technical assistance.
